Acknowledgment of country

Polyglot acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and create, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. For more than 65,000 years, children and families have created and played here, and we are grateful to make our art on this country too.

Sunny (they/them) joined Polyglot in 2023 as an Assistant Stage Manager for the school tours program of When the World Turns. Since then, they have worked across a range of productions including Bees, Ants, Paper Planet, as well as Polyglot’s collaborative projects with the University of Melbourne’s Victorian College of the Arts and The Venny (Kensington).

A highlight for Sunny has been touring When the World Turns and working with more than a thousand students across 15 schools throughout Victoria. For Sunny, working with children has been a grounding and inspiring experience. They are continually uplifted by children’s honesty as a tool for learning and their joyful, shameless curiosity about the world.

Beyond their work with Polyglot, Sunny is an actor, comedian, writer, producer, and drag king. As of February 2025, they have also taken on the role of Social Media Coordinator with Born in a Taxi.
