Acknowledgment of country

Polyglot acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and create, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. For more than 65,000 years, children and families have created and played here, and we are grateful to make our art on this country too.

“Joy, peace, self-expression, connection”

We’re thrilled to launch our first seasons of the year, welcoming new families and joyfully reconnecting with returning ones. Together, we’ll buzz and hum in the fascinating world of Bees, bring natural materials to life in Art Tree, and share stories in Pass It On.

One family shared recently, in reflecting on the importance of creative experiences: “They foster greater joy, peace, self-expression, connection (with self and others), and emotional regulation.”

At home for Moomba Festival

Join us at ArtPlay this weekend for a special Moomba Festival season of Art Tree.

Using colourful paint pens, children and families can make their mark on locally foraged natural materials such as leaves, sticks and seed pods. Together with Polyglot artists, everyone adds to a community of sculpted trees. Play with wands, trace a line on the floor, and explore the hanging, drawing branches of Art Tree.

Come, stay awhile, and connect with nature as you connect as a family.

Art Tree is designed for children aged 3–12 years and their families. Due to the size and nature of some materials, all children under 3 must be closely supervised, and we recommend that extra adults book in.

7-9 March, FREE, bookings essential. Session, access and booking info: polyglot.org.au/events/art-tree-artplay-moomba-2026

Bees in Ballarat & Canberra

“I love engaging with the kids in nature and sharing these beautiful environments.” Parent.

Flying into festival season, Bees will be presented at Ballarat Begonia Festival this weekend (7–9 March) and Wonderful World Festival in Canberra next month (7–11 April). This joyful interactive work invites families to explore a buzzing, humming hive of activity. Three human-sized Bees busy themselves in the creation of a community alongside children who transform into bees as they play.

We’re thrilled to be part of these vibrant community celebrations, creating and playing with families regionally and interstate.

Adventures in Singapore

Pass It On is our ongoing cross-cultural collaboration with The Artground (Singapore) to create a new interactive installation. Presented by Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay for March On 2026, Pass It On celebrates intergenerational play across cultures

Grandparents and grandchildren aged 3-11 are invited to join artists from The Artground and Polyglot. Together we will explore how memories and games are passed on, between family members, the people we know, and those on the other side of the world. Create and play with paper, share stories, and deepen the grandparent-grandchild bond.

Take your time. Skip to a beat. Make your mark. Pass It On keeps it rolling.
