Acknowledgment of country

Polyglot acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and create, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. For more than 65,000 years, children and families have created and played here, and we are grateful to make our art on this country too.

Polyglot Theatre announces new Executive Director

Polyglot Theatre is delighted to announce the appointment of Katherine Fyffe as its new Executive Director and co-CEO. Kath is a highly regarded manager and producer whose experience spans nineteen years of arts leadership, including executive roles at contemporary theatre company The Border Project and dance company Shaun Parker & Company.

At Polyglot we encourage all team members to develop their skills throughout their time with the organisation and the company has devoted time and thought into creating pathways for professional growth within the company for our artists and staff. After three years as Polyglot’s General Manager, Kath has been promoted to this leadership position in recognition of her outstanding capability and acumen, as well as her strong commitment to Polyglot and its values. Polyglot is thrilled to retain Kath’s expertise and passion as she steps into this role as co-CEO alongside Artistic Director Sue Giles AM. This leadership transition ensures stability and continuity for the company during the unprecedented upheaval caused by COVID-19.

Polyglot’s Chair Sarah Hunt says: The board has recognised the breadth of Kath’s experience and skill and is excited to see how she will embrace, and no doubt flourish in, the Executive Director role. We are confident in her financial acumen, her focus on positive impact for the community, her leadership style, her passion for the company and how she embodies the company’s values. Polyglot has planned for succession and this transition ensures stability while enabling fresh energy and ideas.”

Katherine Fyffe responds: I’m so thrilled to take up this leadership position at Polyglot, an organisation whose impact on children and families reaches far and wide. It’s a privilege to lead the company in collaboration with Sue, the Board, the brilliant office staff, artists and production team into the next phase of Polyglot’s future.

Kath’s appointment and other recent staffing changes create opportunities for recruitment in the near future and Polyglot welcomes these chances to offer new leadership roles and pathways into the company.
