January 17 - January 20 2023
Tangle at Bunjil Place
Tangle invites children and their families to create a giant, vibrant, interactive artwork that shifts and grows over time.
As they enter, each child is given a ball of colourful elastic thread which they can weave in and around tall golden poles. Gradually, a spectacular, multi-coloured, ever-changing landscape forms – a fascinating place to play, explore and bounce. Polyglot artists roam throughout, inspiring hilarity, adventure and just a touch of chaos…
With a funky live soundtrack, Tangle is an event where children take the lead. Together they build and contribute to an enchanting public artwork that everyone can enjoy.

How to prepare
- When you come to a Polyglot performance, we recommend you wear comfortable clothing that allows you to enjoy moving. Remember that you have come for an adventure and there are many ways to begin finding your play. You are curious and this space is yours. Just as you might at the beach, do you take your time and dip your toe in to warm up, or do you run and jump right in? The worlds we set up welcome you to take your time and find your own way to your imaginative play; and our performers are there to join you, or play alongside you, and look after these worlds and their inhabitants. See you soon!
Family Access
- Baby change facilities and accessible bathrooms are available in the foyer and next to the cafe.
- Water, infants’ bottles and breastfeeding/chestfeeding are welcome, however we do ask that there is no eating (where possible) in the Tangle performance space.
