Forest at Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne
A bold new immersive show celebrating ecosystems and possibility.
Presented and supported by Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria
In the forest, tiny worlds meet giant worlds. Our imaginations breathe and our senses awaken. Listen. How does the forest call to you?
Forest is a brand-new immersive show set among the rustling trees of a real forest. In this bold production, children aged 4-10 and their families are invited to explore our connection to forests, and the creatures and characters within. Together with Polyglot performers, rediscover the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne bushland, creating and playing in the wild spaces between the trees.
Featuring design that delights and surprises, and a captivating musical composition guiding the journey, Forest is a wondrous celebration of ecosystems and possibility.

How to prepare:
- When you come to a Polyglot performance, we recommend you wear comfortable clothing that allows you to enjoy moving. Remember that you have come for an adventure and there are many ways to begin finding your play. You are curious and this space is yours. Just as you might at the beach, do you take your time and dip your toe in to warm up, or do you run and jump right in? The worlds we set up welcome you to take your time and find your own way to your imaginative play; and our performers are there to join you, or play alongside you, and look after these worlds and their inhabitants. See you soon!
Family Access
- Baby change facilities are available in the all-gender, accessible toilets at the Visitor Centre and Woodland Picnic Area.
- Water, infants’ bottles and breastfeeding/chestfeeding are welcome, but we do ask that there is no eating in the Forest performance space where possible.
