Ants at Bondi Festival (Sydney)

• Ants will take place outdoors, on the Bondi Pavilion Forecourt and surrounds. Please check the weather and bring hats, sunscreen and water.
• Ants is part of Bondi Festival. The area may get very busy, with lots of people, activity and noise.
• You can find ramp access with mobility parking spaces at both entrances to Bondi Pavilion: via Bondi Beach front and Campbell Parade.
• Accessible bathrooms are located on both the ground floor and level 1 (via lift from the ground floor).
• Guide Dogs, Hearing Dogs and assistance animals are welcome at all Bondi Festival events and venues.

Ants

• Ants is a universally accessible experience. The performers do not use spoken language – there is no English language barrier.
• Children and families choose how they engage with the performers and the space, moving around as they like.
• Ants contains amplified sound that is played through portable speakers.
• You can come and go from Ants at any time.
• A visual story to help your family prepare for the experience is available to view/download HERE.

How to prepare

• When you come to a Polyglot show we recommend you wear comfortable clothing that allows you to enjoy moving. Remember that you have come for an adventure and there are many ways to begin finding your play. You are curious and this space is yours. Just as you might at the beach, do you take your time and dip your toe in to warm up, or do you run and jump right in? The worlds we set up welcome you to take your time and find your own way to your imaginative play; and our performers are there to join you, or play alongside you, and look after these worlds and their inhabitants.

• Baby change facilities are available in the family change rooms and accessible bathrooms.
• The Bondi Beach Playground is 120m from Bondi Pavilion.
• Water, infants’ bottles and breastfeeding/chestfeeding are welcome, however we do ask that there is no eating in the Ants performance space.
• Drinks and refreshments can be purchased from Promenade and Glory Days at Bondi Pavilion, or from the nearby food trucks.
• Campbell Parade features a number of cafes and restaurants, as well as a Woolworths Metro.
• You can also bring your own picnic to enjoy at Bondi Beach or Bondi Beach Park before or after Ants.

Public transport

• Bus: routes 333 (accessible) and 380 stop along Campbell Parade. The closest stop to Bondi Pavilion that services both routes is Campbell Pde opp Bondi Beach Public School, Stop ID 202637.
• Train: the closest station is Bondi Junction, which services the Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line (T4). 333 buses to Bondi Pavilion can be caught from Stand A, and 380 buses from Stand B.

Parking

There is metered parking on the beach via Campbell Parade as well as at the main entrance to the Pavilion. This includes disability parking bays and ramps to and from the Bondi Pavilion.

Queen Elizabeth Drive and Park Drive North

• Metered parking 7am-7pm, 7 days a week
• 503 bays, 4 mobile parking spaces
• Max clearance 2.7m
• Coin and credit card payment at meter. Visa and Mastercard only
• Waverley Council beach parking permits may be used.

Bondi Beach Park Drive South

• 4-hour metered parking 7am-7pm, 7 days a week
• 124 bays, 4 mobile parking spots
• Coin and credit card payment at meter. Visa, Amex and Mastercard accepted.
