Acknowledgment of country

Polyglot acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and create, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. For more than 65,000 years, children and families have created and played here, and we are grateful to make our art on this country too.

2025 History

Executive Director leadership change announced

  • Polyglot’s engagement reaches a nine-year high, reaching over 43,000 audience members nationally and internationally.
  • In October, Polyglot announces that after eight years with the company, five of those as Executive Director & Co-CEO, Kath Fyffe will step down at the end of 2025. She is returning to Adelaide, where she has accepted the role of Executive Director at State Theatre Company South Australia.
  • In December, Ally Harvey is announced as Polyglot’s next Executive Director & Co-CEO.
  • Polyglot delivers three world premiere seasons: Art Tree at Moorabbin Music & Arts; Whirlwind, presented by Melbourne Fringe and supported by Museums Victoria; and Pram People (Singapore), presented by Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay for March On.
  • Polyglot delivers the North American premiere season of When the World Turns, our collaboration with Oily Cart (UK), originally commissioned by Arts Centre Melbourne. It is presented by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts as part of their Big Umbrella Festival.
  • We reunite with Acchi Cocchi in Japan, delivering free, drop-in Paper Planet workshops in the Australia Pavilion at World Expo 2025 Osaka.
  • Polyglot’s arts-health activity spans three collaborative projects: the second year of Mythical Hospital Creatures with Starlight Children’s Foundation; Voice of the Child with the Centre for Community Child Health; and Wish Street, an in-school program, with Satellite Foundation.
  • We commence a significant new three-year project, ‘Creative exchange, training and pathways to strengthen the Victorian Theatre for Young Audiences sector’, supported by The Ian Potter Foundation.  
  • Pass It On, our cross-cultural collaboration with The Artground, begins in Singapore in March, with workshops at St. Joseph’s Home and Esplanade – Theatres, and continues in November at ArtPlay.
  • Creative development continues: Catch the Light, our collaboration with Flow Festival Australia; and Forest.
  • In December, we learn that Polyglot was successful in our application for four-year investment through the Victorian Government Creative Enterprises Program.
